This is a clone of an early instrument known as the Mandocaster.  It is a solid body 4 string electric mandolin with a similar shape to the Strat.  It uses a standard Strat hard-tail bridge with the outside string hardware cut off.  For a pickup, it uses half of a P-Bass pickup.  Scale length is about 13.75", and the template will lay that out for you.
